Rain plays into hands of locals

A rain interrupted week didn’t stop most players getting out over the last week. The men’s pennant was moved to Mossman due to the heavy rains in Cairns.

All grades made the most of the home course advantage winning all grades and securing a semi final's birth against Paradise Palms in both A and C grades.

A small field of ladies braved the rain on Thursday in the Stableford competition. Ellen Clark won with 37 points ahead of Glenda Christensen on 33 points. Kerri Williams won nearest the pin on 6 and Shona Barbour won 8.

Jane Chidgey won the ladies Saturday competition with 34 points ahead of Shona Barbour on 33 points. Trish Landy won nearest the pin on 8 and Judy McCormack won 13.
