The penultimate round of the NuBlu Pool and Spa Touch season was played on Monday and the games all went to plan except one.

The first game saw Teachers defeat Quicksilver 5-1. The Teachers had a few miss opportunities in both halves and seem to struggle to get any flow on during the game.

Half time saw Teachers up 3-0, but it was Katie who pushed the score out to 5 by scoring late in the second half. Steve Guthrie and Josh were the other try scorers.

The other 6pm game saw DCs take on Jimbos and with a try in the first set of six to Jimbos it seemed that DCs were in trouble and a cricket score seemed certain to come their way.

But to their credit they only got 12 tries against them with James Doolah, Dale Sparrey and captain James Burley getting over the line. 

But it wasn't until the final hooter sounded and DCs hit their straps and found Mat "It's An Outrage" Churchill run away and score.  It was heard that the boys of DCs were yelling "Last try wins" (it seems this maybe the only way that they win something).

The 7pm games saw Oldies go down to the Jnr Sharks. The Sharks' couple of extras proved the difference with Butters getting over twice and Dan Ferrero crossing for the Oldies.

With some great attack and not much defence there was a total of 15 tries scored. The final was 10 - 5 to the Sharks.

The other game saw an upset with the Raiders going down to Mojos. It seemed that Josh Sagiaba had spiders on him for he had the defence grasping at air, crossing for 4 meat pies (tries).

The final score ended with Mojos 7, Raiders 4 with Todd Funch (2) and Sarah Calcraft marking down for the Raiders.

With next week the last round of fixtures it seems that some teams could play themselves into the top 4 or drop down and end up facing DCs for the wooden spoon.

With the Raiders not looking as sharp as normal and Mojos picking up steam we could see them face either Jimbos or the Teachers in the top 4.
