Junior Muddies score second win
The Under 12 Douglas Muddies had their second win of the season by only nine runs last Saturday at a home game against Atherton Boars.
Muddies' captain, Levi Trewick, won the toss and elected his team to field.
Bowling honours were shared between Levi with 2/10 off 3 overs, Hugo Walker 2/11 off 3 overs, Keel Sorensen 1/6 off 3 with 2 maidens, Daniel Davidson 1/7 off 3 with a maiden, and Ryan Doble 1/2 off 2 overs with one maiden.
The top bowling was supported in the field with great catches by Ryan, Tully Cartwright, Levi, Nathan Deuble and Keel, which kept the opposition at 6/114 at the end of 27 overs.
Muddies' batting openers Tully Cartwright and Daniel Davidson made a great pair, ticking over the runs with both retiring on 12 and 19 respectively after facing 20 fair balls.
Ryan Doble and Luke Twomey were next in to bat and batted defensively until also retiring on 1 and 7. Raine Sorensen and brother Keel were the next batting partnership and started off well until Raine was disappointed to be caught out, but excited to make his first run of the season.
Hugo Walker joined Keel and together they also made some great runs with both boys retiring on 15 and 17. Nathan Deuble and Reuben Allison were next and Reuben was unlucky to also be caught out without making a run.
Ashton Davenport went in to bat with Nathan and worked well together until Nathan retired on 3 to allow Levi Trewick to have a bat for the last two overs.
The Muddies finished their 27 overs on a winning score of 2/123.
