The Mossman Basketball Association had a special guest on Wednesday night with former North Melbourne Giants assistant coach, Glenn Bines, making a special guest appearance.

Glenn has an incredible record in basketball youth development and it was refreshing to pick his brains. He also has head coaching experience in the NBL as well as the SEABL.

Glenn’s experience started with being a great player before moving into coaching, and then coaching at the highest level. His drills and instructions were spot on but his long term advice was invaluable.

"We can show you kids the drills and how to shoot and play ‘D’ and be aggressive, but if you don’t practise it during the week then you won’t improve."

OVer 50 young basketballers attended the session and got a lesson from a basketball legend. It was great for basketball in the area.

Glenn was part of a basketball dynasty with the North Melbourne Giants in the late 80s (89 champs) and early 90s, and to pop out to Mossman and talk to our kids was nothing short of sensational!
