Record entries for Best Photo comp

They say a picture tells a thousand words, so following that philosophy a whole book has been written on our region's way of life through the images captured in The Newsport's April Best Photo Competition.

Stunning lanscapes, fun action shots, brilliant close-ups of our spectacular flora and fauna, and some hidden gems sent in by keen photographers are on display.

A panel of experts shortlisted a selection of the finest shots, and Voting is now open for the Most Popular photo. So go to the Best Photo page and have your say. Voting closes this Friday.

We've received a huge number of entries in April making the panel's choice for April's Best Photo winner one of the most challenging yet.

There are some great prizes on offer including a cool $100 cash for the winner, a stretched print on canvas for the runner up thanks to Image Bank, a tasty bottle of Port Douglas Heritage Series wine for third, and a trip for two to experience Daintree Station's thrilling Jungle Ball for the Most Popular winner.

Good luck to everyone who has entered, and keep the photos coming as May entries are now being received.
