Nail biter in Senior Netball

This week teams were fighting for positions on the leader board with many teams tied on the same rung making for highly competitive games.
Rattle N Hum def Young Guns 20 - 18
A highlight of Tuesday night's games was a nail biter between the two teams sharing second position on the leader board.
Rattle started the game with a 3 goal lead but the Young Guns came back to win the second quarter. The third quarter consisted of only five goals in total, showing just how hard both teams were fighting for a win.
The experience and maturity of Rattle shone through to win the game by two goals resulting in second place on the ladder followed by Young Guns. The best and fairest player was awarded to Young Guns' shooter, Rochelle Miller.
Cougars def Blood Orange 42 - 17
This week Blood Orange took on the undefeated Cougars and found it hard to execute as many goals as they needed.
Blood Orange entered the game in fourth position on the ladder and are still holding their position while Cougars simply kept their top spot, 3 points ahead from the trailing teams.
Both teams played a great defensive game with many turnovers and best and fairest was awarded to Michelle Pitt from Cougars for her efforts in the centre court.
Sugarland Shooters def Pink Panthers 33 - 10
The Shooters entered the game sitting in fifth place on the ladder and kept their position after beating the Pink Panthers now placed seventh.
Shooters simply had more opportunities at goals due to their hard work through the centre court. Pink Panthers were missing a couple of players due to injury but Chaz Clarke was awarded the best and fairest for her great attacking skills in the position of goal shooter.
Julatten Jewels def Crocs 26 - 19
The Jewels moved up one position on the ladder after a win against the eighth placed Crocs. Three of the quarters placed resulted in a draw however Julattens hard work in the second quarter meant they were ahead 7 goals by the end of the game. K
ayla Crookey was awarded the best and fairest player for her great shooting on the Jewels' side.
Jets def Breakers 19 - 4
The Jets had a convincing win over the Breakers showing why they are sitting on top of the B grade ladder. The second placed Breakers did not get a chance to score any goals in two quarters and Jets Grace Walker didn't disappoint playing a very impressive shooting game.
Best and fairest however was awarded to Breakers' wing defence, Lauren Ryan.
U-14 Rep Team def Bad Habitats 20 - 16
Bad Habitats played one of the best games of their season only going down 4 goals to the strong Rep team.
The game was evenly matched throughout with the last quarter resulting in 8 goals each. The Rep team's wing defence, Molly Delaney was awarded the best and fairest of the game.
A special congratulations to Cougars player Michelle Pitt who has won this week's player of the round. Michelle played an outstanding game in centre and wing attack this week and has won herself one night accommodation at the Mt. Carbine Hotel Motel along with a $20 bistro voucher for the Port Douglas Central Hotel.
