It’s May already and with only five weeks until Club Championships it’s good to see so many players running into some form.

Wayne Baxter was in brilliant touch winning the Tuesday men’s monthly medal with a nett 65. Simon Nelson was two shots back in second place with a nett 67 after a count back to Ed Sant.

Boof McDonald won nearest the pin on 6, Art Howard on 8, Laurie Prosser on 10, Ian Prewett on 13 and Peter Lewis on 17.

The Thursday ladies also played their monthly medal last week which saw Virginia Goodall break into the winners circle with nett 67 after a count back to Bette Wells. Trish Landy finished third with nett 69.

Nearest the pins were won by Gayle Healey on 6, Kerri Williams on 8 and 13, Trevene Page on 10 and Bette Wells on 17. Kerri also won the putting competition with 25 putts.

Fifty-seven men played in Saturday’s monthly medal but James Doolah was too good winning with nett 68 after a count back to Sy Dolphin in second place and Wayne Baxter in third. P

eter Chrisfield returned to form and won the A Grade gross with 72, John Cameron won B Grade with 87 and Wayne Baxter won C Grade with 88. Shane Heath won the A Grade nett with 72, Russell Jeffrey won B Grade with 74 and Tano Caltabiano won C Grade with 69.

Don Demler won nearest the pin on 6, Jeff Bochow on 8, Vic Dowler on 10, Ian Prewett on 13 and Barry Rouse on 17.

Gennai Goodwin equalled her course record with 73 off the stick and won the ladies Saturday monthly medal with a nett 70 after a count back to Bev Cowe. Trish Middel finished third with a nett 72. Nearest the pins were Lyn Heimann on 6, Bette Wells on 8 and Jenny Rowell on 10.
