Douglas Junior Netball began with the 10/Under division Diamonds playing the Saints. The Saints were short a player against the strong Diamond team who were in great form after their great effort in the Cairns Carnival over the weekend.

Kalani Revell put in a great defensive game and Jaime Thurtell was excellent throughout the game for the Diamonds while for the Saints standout players were Kiara-Mae Gaddes and Jaz Dodds.

Final score Diamons 5 def. Saints 0.

The Port/Julatten Tigers who are all in their first year of netball put in a great game against the more experienced Mossman Gladiators. Logan Buzza and Dominique Lee put in fantastic efforts and played strongly for the 4 quarters. For the Gladiators Sophee Watson and Georgia McCarthy excelled all over the court.

Final score Gladiators 16 def. Tigers 0.

Under 12

The 12/Under Mossman Magic played Miallo in a fantastic game. The Miallo girls started strongly shooting 2 goals to nil in the first half, and by 3/4 time they were up by 3 goals.  In an exciting last quarter Casilda Creek and Samaria Denman for Magic lifted their game and the team shot 4.

For Miallo, Saisha Schonenberger and Jade Schuck played brilliant netball but could not hold off the Magic onslaught.

Final score Magic 6 drew Miallo 6.

The Crocs played the Panthers and it was the Crocs who showed their experience from the first siren. The Panthers, always enjoying their netball played well.

Robyn Bruenig and Bonnie Francis were fantastic for the 4 quarters, but the Crocs with great play by Courtney Sophocleous and Aleesha Viola came away strong winners.

Final score Crocs 24 def. Panther 0.

The Allstars played the Sparks, both Saint Augustines teams, and the Allstars showed improvement after the weekend at the Cairns Netball Carnival. The Sparks put up a good fight and showed good defence skills.

Tayler Miller put in a great game for the Sparks as did Cartier Bennett, but the Allstars came away with the win.  Thanks to Myah Lowenstein-Jones for playing up from the under 10s for the Sparks.

Player's choice for Allstars Eliza Markham, for Sparks Tia McLean, best & fairest for Allstars Liana Pelegrinet and best &
fairest for Sparks Sascha Lowenstein-Jones.

Final score Allstars 34 def Sparks 1.

The 14/Under Dynamite played the Vipers, and the Dynamite were up 3 goals to 1 by half time with Eleisha Mealing playing great netball and Bronte Lowenstein-Jones shooting brilliantly.

The Vipers in their great looking new team dresses certainly looked the part but couldn't overcome the strong play by the Dynamites.  Hayley Alexander and Akasha Francis put in great games for the Vipers.

Final score Dynamite 9 def. Vipers 3.

The Judamalies played the 12/Under Rep Squad but the Judamalies were not on form this week not for the want of trying by Lauren Ryan and Dakoda Bowen and some great play by Holly Brown.

But the 12/Under Reps were slick with their passing and finished well at goal.  Saischa Schonenberger was fantastic in defence reading the game well and Poppy Lawrence was great in centre.

Final score 12/Under Rep. 12 def. Judamalies 5.

B Grade Division

The 14/Under Rep Squad played Bad Habitats in the B Grade Division Seniors. The 14/Under Reps are playing in the Seniors as a team to ready themselves to compete in the strong Cairns Representative Carnival which is held in Cairns this July.

The 14/Unders continued their winning streak this week by scoring 8 goals apiece at half time, but running away with the game at 3/4 quarter time.

Final score 14/Under Reps 19 def. Bad Habitat 13.
