Debut CD 'On Macrossan Street'
By Roy Weavers
Although he has been part of the local music scene since 2005, local Spa owners Frank Frikker has just recorded his first EP featuring the track entitled “On Macrossan Street”. He wrote the song for this years Carnivale and it tells the story of a traveller who coincidently bumps into Carnivale in Port. he recorded the song after being encvuraged by the feedback he has received since first showcasing the song. He introduced the song on Radio Port FM recently and it can now be viewed on youTube as well.
The EP also has two more songs about the region on it. The CD was produced and mastered by Larry Cash with support of Gecko Music Productions. The EP is available for sale at just $10 around town or at wellness@port on the corner of Grant Street and Macrossan Street.
Frank has been on the Clink Theatre Committee acting as both vice president and president during 2006-2009. During this time he produced several music events. In fact one of his main goals has been to have local musicians performing on a real stage for an audience that listens!
Having always been an enthusiastic singer/songwriter Frank is getting closer to fulfilling his dream. The recording of his own music is his next step.
He is creating his debut album which will be entitled, “Tomorrow I will be OK”. It will be a 12 track CD and is being recorded with the support of many other local musicians.
The CD production and official launch is planned for the 2nd half of 2011.
