Bowls Results for 5, 7 and 8 May 2011

Ladies Bowls

Clair Holloway is the A grade champion for 2011 after defeating Bev Zillfleisch 25 to 21 in a close match.

Championship pairs are being played now with results so far: Kaye Dean and Robin Petrus 18 defeated Margaret Cooper and Maureen Tucker 13, Carol Maxted and Janice Brlyack 22 defeated Carmen Bolton and Val Robinson (sub) 21, Clair Holloway and Betty McClelland 25 defeated Joan Day and Maria Mijo 11.  Winners to play on 12 May.

The Raffle was won by Betty McClelland. There will be an open meeting today at 10.30am. Selectors for May are Kaye Dean and Clair Holloway.

Men’s Bowls

It's Cancer Day this Saturday with all welcome for the 1.30pm start but names in by 12.30 please.

On Saturday Greg McLean and Darryl Mison were winners of this round of the Pairs Championships. The upset of the day was the ‘Hot Shot’ team of Cal Moxted and Cal Wills going down by 1 shot to Colt Dwyer and John Hocking. The Jackpot and the meat trays were won by McLean and Mison.

Next weeks Championship pairs games are: R. Parkes and C. Pitt vs D. Blain and R. Steinberg, B. Day and N. Tesch vs S. Chatterton and R. Pitt, G. Girgenti and D. Beaumont vs D. Egan and T. Pitt.

A grade games for Sunday are: D. Egan vs D. Mison, J. Hocking vs D. Pitt and T. Brack vs C. Wills.

B grade games: C. Andreassen vs N. Tesch, C Pitt vs R. Gard and G. Wilmot vs G. Banks.

This Friday night the club will be fund raising for the Qld Cancer Council. $1 from every drink and $2 from each evening meal will be donated along with proceeds from raffles on the night. The club is also donating all proceeds from bowls this weekend as well as hosting a trivia night on Saturday night.
