Anyone for cricket?
Wendell Sailor along with former Queensland Bulls captain, Jimmy Maher, and the Queensland Rail Bulls Masters are padding up for a tour of Far North Queensland including Port Douglas.
The Bulls Masters team is a mixed bag of legendary Australian cricketers, and others who are not so comfortable facing the odd bouncer.
The team includes famous faces such as Allan Border, Matthew Hayden, Michael Kasprowicz, Ian Healy, Jimmy Maher, Greg Ritchie, Lee Carseldine, Chris Simpson, Martin Kent, Joe Dawes, and Wendell Sailor.
A 20/20 game between the Bulls Masters and a Cricket Far North Invitational XI will be played at the Port Douglas Sports Complex on Saturday 21 May, and a big crowd is expected as the event coincides with Carnivale.
Bulls Masters general manager said the tour, which includes coaching clinics for young cricketers at Cairns, Yarrabah, and Port Douglas, is the biggest they've undertaken to date.
"We've got a whole host of events planned…We've enjoyed tremendous success on our previous tours and we're hoping the communities in Far North Queensland will be just as keen to get involved.
"There will be some great events happening as well as the chance to see some older heads, and some younger ones, pad up for a 20/20," he said.
The tour will include a charity Sportsmans Dinner and golf day at the Bulls Master's major sponsor, Port Douglas Sea Temple Resort. They will also be attending the Carnivale Longest Lunch.
