Voting opens for May Best Photo Comp

Local photographers have certainly risen to the challenge with some of the most spectacular regional images we've ever received appearing in The Newsport's May Best Photo Competition.

Stunning close-ups of flora and fauna, creative portraits, and even rare astronomical events are just some of the photographs you can vote for in the Most Popular category.

A panel of experts have shortlisted a selection of the finest shots, and voting is now open for the Most Popular photo. So go to the Best Photo page and have your say. Voting closes next Friday.

There are some great prizes on offer including a cool $100 cash for the winner, a stretched print on canvas for the runner up thanks to Image Bank, a tasty bottle of Port Douglas Heritage Series wine for third, and a trip for two to experience Daintree Station's thrilling Jungle Ball for the Most Popular winner.
