U/9 Dragons too good in Cairns

by Jason Carr

Eurotech Douglas Dragons Under 9s played Redlynch in Cairns on Saturday, and missing three key players the boys had to dig in and work hard to get the win.

The Dragons were under the pump in the first half with some strong tackling by Lockie Weyand keeping the boys in the game. The Dragons attacked back and Jack Carr dribbled round the keeper to put Douglas 1-0 up.

Redlynch found the back of the net soon after to make it 1-1 at half time. The Dragons came out in the second half and started to get on top with Charlie Dowling running his socks off to keep the Dragons in the game.

Douglas kept going forward with Jack Carr finding his range to score three more goals to make the final score 4-1 with the Dragons notching another win.
