Intimo has been operating for the last fifteen years as a successful lingerie and loungewear party plan business. It has over 1600 consultants in Australia and New Zealand. 

Allie Duval has been working with Intimo for just over 14 months and she says she hasn't looked back!

Intimo Lingerie offers lingerie including bras, undies, sleepwear and loungewear. The Intimo style and size range is Australia’s largest and starts from a size 8A to 24 G.  They specialise in a wide range of everyday practical and intimate range of bra’s.  And yes, they do stock a great variety for women with a larger cup size.

Allie Duval was in Port Douglas recently holidaying with her husband and working around the local shopping district but she says "I noticed I couldn’t find any specialised Bra shops... instantly I was thinking how on earth do local woman find out what bra would suit them best?"

Allie's background makes interesting reading.  She studied Journalism and fell into a HR & Recruitment career which lasted over ten years. She  worked with large corporate organisations and recruited everything from administration to project management roles. She received a lot of training and development to deal with difficult situations and therefore has a passion for problem solving.

"After having my first child I was amazed at how difficult it was to be properly fitted for a bra and felt really frustrated with retail sales consultants that offered me bra’s that didn’t suit my body shape and were just plain uncomfortable".

"I had a fitting session with a professional Bra Fitter just before I’d gotten married at a Hens Night and it was quite a revelation.  After I gave birth I wanted to buy some bras from a retail store but I found it really difficult to fit the pram into the change room (no one ever tells you to buy narrow prams for this reason). .I cried all the way home and then remembered about the bra fitter that came out to me just a few years before this".

"It was my light bulb moment....I realised if I was feeling this way then there were likely many more mums just like me.. time poor, frustrated with screaming children that just hated bra shopping".

"And it wasn’t just that.. I loved the prospect of getting back into work, it was a challenge but hey, I got through childbirth, it couldn’t be that bad.  I loved that I could contribute financially to our bills since our combined income had taken a considerable dive since I left full time work".

"Intimo is the best career choice I have made and I’d never leave it".

My aim is to offer a professional bra fitting service to all women I come across. So many of the woman I meet are wearing the wrong size bra and don’t really know what sort of bra suits their body shape. I really enjoy the transformation that takes place with these woman in changing their perception of their body shape".

"But obviously being based in Sydney, I can't personally service every client contact BUT I can help develop a team of local agents who when trained can make sure everyone in the Port Douglas and surrounding region has the same opportunities that I have enjoyed".

Allie has already developed a team of women who are growing their own teams.

"I aim to inspire financial independence and help women achieve their personal and professional goals.  One of my team members Jenni Dallas from Penrith is using her salary from Intimo to save for her wedding day this September whilst also working full time and its been such an inspiring journey to see her achieve her dream".

Allie has told us that there is a lot of fun to be had at the parties.  She told us a story about a party that was held by some girls in their mid 30’s one Friday evening (apparently a good night to have a party plan) .  They had also invited their mums and even had a grandmother or two for support.  Great to have three generations of women there.
The grandmothers got really involved and were telling everyone about the types of lingerie, well under-garments really,  they used to wear back in their day.   Things have certainly moved on since then!  
Allie said "We had such a great time and I really enjoyed doing the fittings with the grannies, especially since it had been quite a while since they had made the time to find out their proper bra size!"

Allie Duvall is a mobile fitting specialist based in Sydney but the beauty of the Intimo business is that it can operate from anywhere!  She is looking to grow her team of professional 'Bra-Ologists' (as she calls them) in the Port Douglas region.

Allie says, "An Intimo Consultant is so many things. For me it's about wanting to connect with other woman, have the ability to contribute to my family and help pay for things whilst still helping to raise our child. It was really hard for me to go back to full time work as finding a spot in child care was an issue, with Intimo I was able to work my own hours that I knew I had available around when my husband was home.  I feel really blessed to have found such a wonderful company that offers great working incentives, bonuses and overseas travel".

Allie sums up, "Intimo has offered me an opportunity to be an example to my child, help pay for our mortgage and save for our family holiday.
