The first Surf Life Saving carnival of the season was held in idyllic conditions at Mission Beach over the weekend.  

Competitors from Under 8’s through to the Masters 55+ competed in beach and water events, and the benefits of off-season training were evident with impressive results through all the age groups.

Standout performances came from Sam Ralston in the Under 14 surf race, Sophie Knight claiming the age champion title Under 8 female, and all the Under 11’s completing their first Ironperson event.
