Open season on Creb track
Following initial assessments undertaken by Cairns Regional Council officers, the CREB track was re-opened again on Friday, 22 July.
The CREB track is a very steep, rough track linking Daintree to Wujal Wujal, which made a few 4wd enthusiasts stay over night, a couple of weeks when the track was closed. So before attempting to use the track, all motorists are advised to check local weather conditions on The Newsport and ensure that they have self-recovery equipment.
The track crosses also through the Burungu Aboriginal community and motorists are asked to be mindful of this when accessing the track. Improvement works to the track will be undertaken during the next few weeks to enhance the magic experience of driving through the old rainforest in the world. Motorists are asked to observe the signs and drive with caution for their own safety but also for the wildlife and the natural environment.
As always the Cairns Regional Council appreciates your patience and cooperation in maintaining the beauty surrounding the Creb Track.
If you are planning a trip over the Creb Track then please call the Council on 4044 3044 to find out any new information relating to any road works.
