Central Cougars maintain their undefeated season in Douglas Netball in a tough game against the team aiming to defend their 2010 Premiership, Rattle N Hum.

The Central Cougars came out and took a strong win over the second placed Rattle N Hum with both teams playing a great game creating many turnovers and making it as tough as possible for their opposition.

The first three quarters saw a very evenly matched game with the Rattle side only trailing by two goals but by the fourth it was one team’s game.

The Cougars brought the game home with some excellent shooting by Michelle Pitt to create a final score of 28 - 20.

Cougars goal keeper, Gemma Gwilliams, and Rattles goal defence, Adriana Van Boxtel, were awarded the best and fairest players of the match.

In the second A-grade game of the night the third placed Young Guns took on the fourth placed Blood Orange. The Young Guns came out on court with a strong team and were simply too good for the six sided Blood Orange.

Despite their lack of players, Blood Orange put in a great game against the young side and only trailed by three goals for three quarters.

Young Guns' centre, Kahlee Tesch, kept the ball flowing through the centre court and was awarded the best and fairest player along with Blood Orange defender, Kirsty Mackay, for her excellent defence and contribution to turning the ball around.

The final score was Central Cougars 44 defeated Rattle N Hum 26

In the A-reserve division the third placed Sugarland Shooters took on the fourth placed Pink Panthers.

The Shooters were left to play with a bare five players and therefore started off slowly against the Panthers. They came back in the second and third quarters, however, by delivering fast and long balls down the court to their start shooter, Ebony McCarthy.

The Panthers held on but couldn’t keep up with the pace and deliver the ball well to their own shooters. Sugarland’s centre player, Jenny Elphinstone and goal keeper, Bec Pont, were both awarded the best and fairest award.

The perseverance and great team play from the Shooters gave them a 29 – 20 win.

In the second A-reserve game of the night the Julatten Jewels won by forfeit to the Crocs. Crocs were unfortunately unable to make team numbers but a scratch match was still played in the spirit of the game.

In B-grade the Breakers took on the young U-14 Rep team but were unable to defeat them on the scoreboard.

The Breakers played a good game this week but the Rep team's goal defence, Jessica Eagle-Rowe, interrupted too many opportunities at goals.

Rep wing defence, Natalie Littler also played a crucial role in turning over the ball and preventing the Breakers opportunity in the mid court.

A final score of 19 – 11 to the U-14 Rep's shows that both teams are improving over the season.

The final B-grade match of the night saw the top place Jets take on the fourth placed Bad Habitats.

The Jets were simply too fast and skilled with the ball and Habitats were unable to get in their way. The Habitats were also crippled when they lost their wind defence to injury in the early stage of the game.

This saw a dramatic difference in the score as the Jets took advantage of their extra player.

The final score resulted in the Jets winning 28 – 6
