Floodstock concert to support flood victims

Port Douglas locals and visitors can show their support for Queensland's flood victims and have a fantastic music filled afternoon at the same time, thanks to Gregg Buchanan and the Port Douglas Yacht Club who will host 'Floodstock'.

The clean up costs are estimated to run into the billions of dollars, so locals and visitors to Port Douglas on Sunday 23 January are urged to get to the Yacht Club from 2pm to support this fun-filled fundraiser.

Any why wouldn't you? For just $10 entry you can see some of the region's finest musical acts including The Tonic, The Walker Brothers, Distractions, The Antipodylans, Los Caracoles, Stu Forbes, The Gusman, and Kim Hurley.

"From my end it was pretty easy, I just phoned up some muso mates and they were all into it right away," said organiser Mr Buchanan.

There'll also be a special guest appearance by 'The Ukenator' who'll be helping with the raffles where, as usual, Port Douglas businesses have generously donated some incredible prizes.

Sea Temple, Poseidon Sailaway, Quicksilver, Bistro 3, Salsa Bar & Grill and the Beach Shack have donated over $2,000 worth of prizes from accommodation packages, reef trips, and meal vouchers.

"On an afternoon down here it's just absolutely brilliant. Great music and a good bunch of people, it'll be really nice," Mr Buchanan said.
