Business satisfaction survey out now

Cairns Regional Council has begun surveying recycling requirements of business customers in the Douglas region to establish the level of satisfaction with current services.

Survey's were issued from yesterday canvassing every business in the area entitled to recycling and waste collection service.

Division 10 Councillor Julia Leu said the aim of the survey was to identify opportunities to improve services as well as to determine just how well existing services suited current needs.

“Council staff will either phone or personally visit every business to chat with owners and managers,” Cr Leu said.

“This is the very best way for staff to understand the real, everyday needs for waste and recycling removal, because every customer may have different requirements.”

The survey will pose questions about how many and what type of Council waste and recycling bins clients have, suitability of existing collection schedules, whether clients have sufficient room on their premises for bins and the willingness of eligible clients to participate in kerbside recycling.

Regional Manager of Douglas, Liz Collyer said the inquiry was designed to help Council better meet the individual and collective needs of the business community.

“We would like to see every business owner or manager participate in the survey.  Ultimately we hope to come up with a holistic view of how clients see the current service,” Ms Collyer said.

“This also creates an opportunity for the business community to garner a better understanding of commercial waste and recycling and the challenges that Council faces in endeavouring to supply the best possible service.”
