Seven Muddies make the Grade

By Helen Coulthard

Seven Douglas Cricket Association juniors represented FNQ at the Qld Junior Cricket Intra-State Age Championships during the first week of the school holidays.

The annual championships were contested by 12 teams from all over Queensland over 5 days, in various age groups.

Daniel Davidson played at Brisbane in the Under 12s, Tommy Goodall, the Gold Coast in the Under 13s, Ethan McCullough, Hayden DÁddona and Ben Shrimpton at Mackay in the Under 14s and David Coulthard and Glen Ives at Rockhampton in the Under 15s.

Despite a rain-affected week in Rocky, a standout performance from opening batsman Ives, earned Glen the distinction of being leading run scorer for the U15 carnival, amassing 160 runs over 4 matches.

Congratulations to Glen on this well-deserved achievement, and all the boys, for being great ambassadors, not only for the Douglas “Muddies”, but FNQ.

In further Rep honours, Levi Trewick will travel to Brisbane to represent FNQ at an Under 12 Development Carnival, contesting the Ian Healy Cup in early January.
