Big Bowls turn out for Bunn & Balshaw Ham Day

Men's Bowls

It was another great turnout on Saturday for the Bunn and Balshaw Ham Day. The Club greatly appreciates the long term support of the sponsors and wishes to thank them for hosting such a successful day of bowls.

Once again it was an afternoon of full rinks and friendly competition with a good turnout of new and first time bowlers keeping the competition eventful and the old pros on their toes.

The results:
A Douglas, T Pitt P Cleary def B Dwyer, S Parks, C Dwyer 23-22.
S Renton, L Valentine, D Egan def K Pitt, B Gard, R Ashford 20-14.

The hams were thrown at R Williamson, B Hendo and D Blain by J Hills, E Pitt and D Pitt who were defeated 40-8.

Another festive day is planned for next Saturday 17 December with the Club presentation day.  The games will start at 1:30pm and names must be in by 12:30. Visitors and new bowlers are welcome.

Formal competition resumes in February next year so now is the ideal season for new bowlers to come along and learn the game in a very relaxed atmosphere and mufti dress is no problem.

Ladies Bowls

The last game for this year resulted in a win for Jan Gard and Glenis Sharpe (+26) and the runners-up were Joan Day and Estelle O’Rourke (+21).

Bowls will return on 12 January with a meeting and 10.30am.

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year.
