Security footage captures likely thieves

Port Douglas Police are seeking an identification on three males and one female captured on security footage after allegedly committing stealing offenses on Macrossan Street in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Acting Sergeant Sharon Butler said the four, who appear to be in their early 20s, were filmed outside The Newport accomodation house between 3am and 3.30am.

They were allegedly seen removing signage from the Port on Macrossan accommodation house and a nearby height clearance sign, are also believed to have removed two large barriers from the front of Rattle ā€˜nā€™ Hum Bar and Grill.

Acting Sergeant Butler said a blonde Caucasian female and three Caucasian males, one with blonde/brown hair, one with dark hair and the other wearing a hat, were most likely responsible for both offences.

While the signage was later located with minimal damage at Jalun Park (at the Four Mile Beach end of Macrossan Street), the four were likely to be charged with stealing should they be identified.
