Port taps into fountain of youth

Port Douglas retirees and baby boomers looking to develop an exercise regime to suit their lifestyle can take advantage of a free Physical Activity for Older Adults workshop on Tuesday 16 August.

The half-day workshop will teach participants about the benefits of physical activity and will focus on specifically-designed exercises to help reduce the effects of ageing.

Sport Minister Phil Reeves encouraged more Queenslanders to lead active and healthy lifestyles by getting involved in sport and recreation.

“We want to make sure everyone has the opportunity to participate in sporting activities regardless of age or ability,” Mr Reeves said.

The Physical Activity for Older Adults workshop will take place next Tuesday from 10am to 1pm at the Port Douglas Sports Centre.

Bookings are essential and need to be made by Monday 15 August.
