Healthiest Community wins
Is your workplace, group or school considered a healthy environment?
Or could it use some cold, hard cash to improve its healthiness factor?
Keep Australia Beautiful Queensland, on behalf of the Queensland Government, has $1.6 million to give away for projects to help create healthier lifestyles in Queensland.
Entries in the “Healthy Queensland Awards” - for new and innovative projects and programs to make people healthier – close on August 31, 2011.
Premier Anna Bligh is offering Queensland schools, communities and workplaces the chance to share in a competition prize pool of $1.6 million.
The Healthiest Community can win a huge $750,000 and five highly commended communities will take $50,000 each; the Healthiest School wins $ 250,000 (and five highly commended for $50,000) and the Healthiest Workplace can win $50,000 (five highly commended for $10,000).
The awards give groups and organisations the opportunity to propose programs that promote improved health and wellbeing, or plans for 'healthy' infrastructure such as bicycle and walking paths, sun shades or sporting equipment.
Criteria and entry conditions can be found on the Keep Australia Beautiful Queensland’s website www.kabq.org.au or www.thepremier.qld.gov.au
But there’s only two weeks left to get your entries in, so make it quick!
