Quintessential Quirk is back
Following the overwhelming success of the inaugural show last year at The Clink Theatre, there will be two showings of Quintessential Quirk this year.
Quintessential Quirk is the concept of Karen White and follows her reputation for “quirky” and “rudey” songs.
In all, as with last year, eleven musicians will grace the stage to perform a medley of toe-taping songs across several genres.
Her play list for the 2010 show covers pop and folk songs from every decade since the 60's. As always her songs have an eclectic mix from comedy classics to modern day romance, from silly to serious, even erring at times on the burlesque.
Cairns Regional Council are major sponsors of the show and opportunities are open for "almost any amount" of sponsorship from other businesses.
Karen said "Shows like this also rely on an army of volunteers to function (Quintessential Quirk 2009 benefited from about 1,500 hours of volunteer time).
"Quintessential Quirk is a not-for-profit show and any surplus between income and costs are donated to charity."
Last year The Clink was the recipient of a sizeable donation from the proceeds of the show.
This year the show will be held in the Ballroom at Rydges Sabaya on Sunday, 28 November.
