Hannah entourage heads to Agincourt

Hollywood star Daryl Hannah took time out yesterday to jump aboard (eco certified) Poseidon for a day on the reef with friends and family.

Ms Hannah has travelled Australia from top to bottom and back again to talk up the importance of sustainable practices, which included the Permaculture Conference in Kuranda, and addressing survivors of the Black Saturday bush fires in King Lake, Victoria.

The actress, who has starred in movies such as Blade Runner, Kill Bill, Splash and Wall Street, is a staunch environmentalist having retrofitted her own home, owning a car that runs on biofuel, and growing organic food for farmers' markets.

"I encourage you guys to take advantage of these options. You have the tools right here," she said.

"They are materials that aren't poisonous to you or your water system and I recommend to you that you take advantage of these things. . ."
