Douglas Icon consultation extended

Community Consultation on the Douglas Iconic Panel has been extended due to the intervention of Member for Cook Jason O’Brien.

Mr O’Brien said that he met with the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure in Brisbane this week and explained that there had been some delays in people receiving the consultation booklets and that more time was needed to receive feedback.

“To his credit, the Minister has listened and the deadline for community submissions is now September 20,” Mr O’Brien said  “The consultation booklets are available by calling my office on 1800 816 264 and I will express post one to you.”

Alternatively, I have the document electronically so email me at cook@parliament.qld.gov.au  and my office will get it to you straight away.”

Mr O’Brien urged people to have their say on the future of the panel which is charged with protecting the features of the town planning scheme that make Douglas special.
