Dutch TV on Poseidon
Poseidon, the inaugural winner of Port Douglas Magazine's Recommended Reef Trip award, hosted the TV crew of '3 Op Reis', the Dutch equivalent of Australia's 'Getaway' travel program last Sunday.
The crew and the show's presenter were invited by Tourism Queensland and Tourism Australia as part of an epic trip which started in Broome and brought them to our neighbourhood to cover some Tropical North Queensland experiences.
3 Op Reis episodes are watched by over 700,000 viewers (which are repeated each week and available online), and focuses essentially on young people from 15-35 years old.
Andrea Gibson from the Reef Adventure Centre said having the TV crew on board was a nice surprise for some of the guests.
"The Dutch market is really good for us. We had some Dutch people on the boat that day and they were a bit star struck," she said.
"Denis Storm is the presenter, and is very popular in the Netherlands."
The next series of the show will go to air from January to March next year and will include four 15 minute slots of Australia content.
