Creativity alive and well in Port

The Go Troppo Arts Festival is nearing its close, but there's still time for you to be awakened to some of the creative talent on display in our own backyard.

The Sugar Wharf is just one of many venues around Port Douglas displaying local artwork, and organisers are encouraging people to have a go in a variety of workshops throughout the festival.

An eager group of budding artists soaked up the atmosphere of the Sugar Wharf, and drew inspiration from the view of the mountains as part of Billy Missi's 'Carve n Print' workshop yesterday.

There's still time to get your hands dirty with workshops        running until Sunday.

A broad catalogue of work is available to be purchased from artists including Jennifer Arthur, Robyn Baker, Anna Curtis, Michael Edwards, among many others. Bob Gilmour's 'Dance Me', an abstract sculpture is the highest priced piece at a cool $42,000.

The festival is in its third year and will culminate in music and art show at the Sheraton Mirage on Saturday night.
