Townsville sensation, 18 year old Nelson Tilley took the win for the 20th running of the RRR in a time of 1h37:48.41.

Nelson out-sprinted Mark Viney by one second, with three time winner of the RRR David Wood 11 seconds back in third.

This would have to have been the toughest course for the RRR yet and credit to everyone who took up the challenge.

While riders had plenty of challenges on the course, so too did officials in the timing tent as mud covered number plates proved problematic to read.

Winning women's rider Jodie Willett finished an amazing 14th overall in a time of 1h49:39.27, with defending RRR champ Abby McLennan taking second this year with a still impressive time of 1h52:13.87.

Third place went to the ever improving Josphine Zammit in a time of 2h12:44.51.
