New mag a must for visitors and locals

The new edition of Port Douglas' very own glossy visitor magazine hits town this week, chock full of stories about why our area is a premium tropical holiday destination 365 days a year.

Issue 4 of Port Douglas - The Jewel of the Pacific Rim isn't just a great read for holiday makers. Locals will love the features that are a fantastic reminder of why we live in this part of the world.

Port Doulgas Magazine editor, Roy Weavers, fills us in with what you can expect from Issue 4, instantly recognisable by the stunning cover shot of Mossman Gorge taken by local photographer, Tania King.

"We're determined to show visitors and residents that there is no 'on' and 'off' season here, just different seasons," he said.

"This issue focuses on the Greentime season when you can see what makes this area unique, at its very best.

"it's about changing people's attitudes that have held us back in the past, and I'm sure a lot of our readers will agree that there's nothing quite like the tropics in the rain."

There's even more reason for locals to grab themselves a copy of the free magazine with a feature dedicated to the recent Port Douglas Magazine Awards.

"We wanted to showcase the businesses that made tourists so passionate about their experiences that they took the time to put pen to paper and vote for their favourite operators."

The Port Douglas Magazine also features how it feels to be a first time diver on the Great Barrier Reef, what we can expect from the cruise ship industry in 2011, a thorough restaurant guide, and much, much more.

So grab a copy, a coffee, and relax with Port Douglas - The Jewel of the Pacific Rim Issue 4.
