With the impending wet season, and to help residents prepare for any storms that may visit us during that time, Cairns Regional Council is offering free green waste disposal.

The Council are urging residents to clean up their garden waste and take advantage of the free waste disposal offer.

“In the weather conditions that we are currently enjoying, it is easy to forget that the cyclone season is just around the corner,” Mayor Val Schier said.

“The offer waives fees at Council transfer stations for the next two weekends and through the week fro the disposal of domestic garden vegetation.”

The offer is valid from Saturday 6 November until Sunday 14 November for residential green waste delivered in utilities, trailers and light trucks (max 4 tonne GVM).
