Pacific Jewel visits Jewel of the Pacific
Hundreds of passengers jumped P&O cruise liner, Pacific Jewel, for a whirlwind visit to explore the wonders of the Port Douglas region.
Daintree Rainforest tours, Great Barrier Reef trips, and a whole lot of shopping and sightseeing in Port Douglas was on the agenda for the mainly Australian contingent. “It’s a great way to get a glimpse of places we might want to come back and spend more time at” Trish from Victoria said.
Having just a few hours to get a taste of the region, a fleet of tour operators was at hand at the Meridien Marina to help the tourists make the most of their time.
“We get plenty of inquiries from people who are on these cruises, and our 15 minute and 40 minute scenic flights are the most popular” said Za from SkySafari.
Cruise ship staff were tight lipped when it came to discussing details of the voyage proving that the old war time motto “loose lips sink ships” is alive and well.
