Fat Albert goes camera Shy

Our friends, David and Tyna White from Solar Whisper Daintree River Cruises reported that Fat Albert, the areas dominant male crocodile was in their part of the river again but Scarface, his arch enemy, was, unfortunately, nowhere to be seen.

Albert was frightened off the bank repeatedly by a private boat, which wasn't behaving in a sensible manner.  While this boat was around Fat Albert decided to stay in the water and hold his breath for hours at a time.  It's a shame that people don't quite grasp that these animals are easily spooked by unusual behaviour.

Scarface is much more easygoing and is used to all the boats whereas Albert only knows the regular daily tour boats and hides from unknown ones.

Elizabeth, one of the mature female Crocodiles was out for most of the day (she has left the kids to their own devices now).  There were also a lot of the small crocs on the banks as it was warm.  The tree snakes were also very active chasing frogs in the afternoon which entertained the river cruisers and made great photo opportunities.
