Beach Volleyball hits Port Douglas

Beach Volleyball hits the sand at 4 Mille Beach this Saturday from 1pm as part of Carnivale’s Beach Day, and you’re welcome to join in thanks to the efforts of event organiser, Olivia Piat.

Olivia has been playing indoor volleyball for many years, but when presented with the stunning backdrop of our famous beach, she gladly traded the stadium for the sand.

“I have found it’s a great sport to keep you fit and active, while you get to have fun on the sand of course” she said.

“I would love to introduce this sport to our Port Douglas culture, and so have decided to run this introductory session so that anyone can come along and try their hand at the new sport.”

Olivia is encouraging you to come down to 4 Mile Beach on Saturday to learn some basics of the sport and play some games, but if you can’t make it then don’t get sand in your pants, Olivia will be running a weekly training session following Beach Day so you won't miss out.

Editors Comments: I'll be down at the Beach on Saturday organising the Beach Cricket from 10am so I'm looking forward to seeing the Beach Volleyball, especially the ladies in their bikinis....am I allowed to say that ?
