Low Isles trolley missing at sea
Rick and Alex over on Low Isles have issued an SOS for The Low Isles trolley. This trolley, which is the result of a year's modifications and fund raising, decided to take advantage of yesterday morning's gale force winds on the island and go for a self propelled run half way around the island, and then apparently a swim.....probably to Cape Kimberley, Cape Trib or Snapper Island, but in those winds who knows?
This is a small disaster for those who visit and work on the island, since without a loading jetty, the trolley was the only way to transport heavy items like fuel and boats, which can't be carried on their own.
It disappeared between 09.30 am and 11.15 am on Saturday. Please, please can everyone pass the word and keep an eye out. Tell everybody who spends time on the beach and on the water to watch out for it, and maybe we will find it and get it back! It is made of aluminium with brand new big fat beach wheels as per photograph.
Any sightings please ring the island on 4098 1536 or Qamar from LIPS on 0427 566 868.
