'Keep it Wild' Poster Competition

Wet Tropics Management Authority is launching the Reef & Rainforest "Keep it Wild", poster competition with the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority.  This year's competition celebrates the Queensland school system's year of environmental sustainability and the international year of biodiversity, declared by the United Nations.

To enter the competition, or for more details, please visit the Wet Tropics website. Celebrate the Year of Environmental Sustainability and International Year of Biodiversity and help protect the reef and rainforest, keeping them wild for future generations.

Prep and primary school classes are encouraged to draw or paint an A3 landscape sized poster OR create a collage, small mural or wall hanging.  The finished artworks can be submitted as a class or as individual entries.

They should be based on this theme which is  "For you to portray one message on how to reduce your impact on our reef and rainforest World Heritage Areas".
The competition is being run in two geographic locations Cairns and Townsville with prizes located in each region. Click here for the Cairns region entry form.
The Year of Environmental Sustainability encourages students to reduce their impact on the Earth. If we all reduce our impact on the environment we can help protect our reef and rainforest wildlife.

Editors Comments: Come on guys, let's show everyone in Cairns City and Townsville how Port Douglas protects it's Reef and Rainforest . It would be brilliant to have our local schools take up the challenge for this poster contest.  Everyone keeps telling us how its Cairns Great Barrier Reef when we all know it's really Port Douglas Great Barrier Reef.  This is our chance to claim it back.  let's win this competition...I wish I could draw!
