Blues Brothers coming to Reef Casino
By Roy Weavers
The Official Blues Brothers Revue is coming all the way from America, hitting our shores, for their first ever national tour! They will be performing at the Vertigo Bar in the Reef Hotel Casino in Cairns on Thursday 25th, Friday 26th and Saturday 27th March.
This is not-to-be missed! Performers Wayne Catania and Kieron Lafferty, aka Jake and Elwood, have been delivering a performance that have left critics speechless. It is authentic, lively and as entertaining as ever!
The Blues Brothers, are one of the best American blues and soul revivalist bands. Founded in 1978 by comedians, Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi, they have a long history of providing fans with incredible songs! This live concert is just like the real thing, combining all of the comedy, all of the hits, and all of the glory, from the original Blues Brothers train. The performance also plays its respect to the history of Chicago’s blues, gospel and rock scene, and has been noted as one of the best live takes on the Blues Brothers phenomena!
Performing with passion and flair, the duo create all of the humour, and the craziness, performing the hits from the 1978 album, Briefcase Full Of Blues; they will promise to have you singing along!
Wayne and Kieron, are known also for having performed on screen, which caught the attention of Victor Pisano and Judy Belushi Pisano, who asked them to perform as part of the stage musical, the Official Blues Brothers Revival.
“We learned that day how hard it is to do what John and Dan did,” says Judy Belushi Pisano, nobody had the whole package until Kieron and Wayne arrived!” And that is a fact! This performance is for the whole family, touring with their big band, this is the whole package!
The Official blues Brothers Revue, has continued to receive rave reviews, with critics saying the duo are “The most dangerous combination since Nitro and Glycerine.”
“Infectious and unbridled energy… it blows the roof off,” said The Chicago Sun Times. Australian critics will be no exception, as the show is set to have everybody clapping their hands, and dancing along, with the unforgettable Blues Brothers sound. This is going to be a performance to remember, because ‘everybody needs the Blues Brothers!!!
