Melissa Hoyer in her article on News.com.au on 9th Match made it quite clear that Port Douglas should be included when trying to decide what your idea of a stylish weekend getaway should be.

In a diverse range of top 5 options including Rae's on Wategos in Byron Bay, Kangaroo Island, SA, crown in Melbourne and the Margaret River wine region, Port Douglas was singled out in the far north.

A snippet from the article reads...We all have our very own slices of style getaway heaven. Those special places we like to get away to get back to ourselves. Many may be seriously indulgent and even once-in-a-lifetime experiences. What a stylish weekend getaway is to you could be totally different to that of your best mate. (They describe Port as follows) - PORT DOUGLAS: With a tropical climate ALL year-round, Port Douglas is the place to get away from it all. If you take a slow drive up the Queensland coast, it is the perfect “stop” point for a few days. The biggest decision is where and what to eat. There is Four Mile Beach, the Reef and Daintree to see in between staying in a private villa or bigger hotel like the Sheraton Mirage or Pool Resort.
