THIS WEEKEND KURANDA ROOTS!!!

KURANDA AMPHITHEATRE, 25-26 JUNE
Kuranda Roots This weekend

Kuranda Roots Festival brings its solid line-up of roots and reggae to Kuranda Amphitheatre this weekend. With a stellar bill of artists that includes headlines The Beautiful Girls, New Zealand’s The Nomad, Brisbane’s Darky Roots and Kooii, Far North Queensland’s burgeoning successful Zennith and a reformation of the North’s first Indigenous reggae band Mantaka, this year’s festival looks set to be one of the biggest yet.

Kicking off with a Friday night dance hall theme at the Amphitheatre Under Stage, Kuranda Roots Festival eases party-goers into the weekend with a laid-back atmosphere and the chance to get up-close-and-personal with some of the premier bands on the line-up. Last year’s dance hall event was jam-packed, and provided the perfect pre-party for the main festival day on the weekend.

The actual festival kicks off at midday on Saturday 26 June with two stages, the main stage featuring all the headlining acts, and the DJ stage nestled amongst the rainforest which provides a unique vibe for listeners and the musicians themselves. Reputed as one of Australia’s unique outdoor festivals of world, roots, reggae, dub and now rock music, Kuranda Roots Festival has received ongoing acclaim for its good vibes and outstanding atmosphere. This year’s event will be no exception and will not only feature a wide range of music but also food and craft markets, licensed bar and chai tent.

Aside from headliners The Beautiful Girls, the special event at this year’s festival is the reformation of Mantaka and the celebration of local music icon Willie Brim’s 50th birthday. Two never to be repeated events means this is a Kuranda Roots that will go down in the history books. All music lovers and appreciators are encouraged not to miss out!

Kuranda Roots Festival is an all ages event, children under 12 are free. This is a great chance for all to experience and celebrate Kuranda’s lively arts and culture. Tickets are still on sale from ticket outlets and will be available at the gate on the day.
