Princess to base third liner Down Under
Princess Cruises are to base three liners in Australia for the first time in 2011/12 as it unveiled its largest ever season of voyages Down Under (Travel Today, March 26).
The cruise line will base the Dawn Princess, Sun Princess and for the first time, the Sea Princess in local waters with a total of 48 cruises on sale to Asia, South Pacific and Australasia. Early booking discounts of up to 45% are available before September 30.
The Sea Princess will offer 12 voyages from Sydney between October 2011 and March 2012, including a 42-night itinerary to Japan departing March 4. It will visit Queensland, Darwin, Kota Kinabalu and China before returning via Guam and Rabaul. Prices start from $6999 per person twin share, with balcony cabins starting from $10,999. Sea Princess will also offer nine 13-night cruises from Sydney to New Zealand.
Sun Princess, meanwhile, will be based in Brisbane for the season, marking the liner’s maiden series of voyages from Queensland. It will begin with a 42-night cruise to China and Japan in September 2011 before embarking on seven 14-night cruises to New Zealand and two 11-night voyages to Fiji and the South Pacific.
The Dawn Princess will return to Melbourne for a four-month season between December and March offering seven 13-night cruises to New Zealand, a 25-night circumnavigation of Australia and a two night coastal trip to Sydney. The superliner will also sail a 35-night cruise to Tahiti and Hawaii from Sydney departing April 13, 2012.
