Many thanks to our friends at Quicksilver who sent through the exciting news that Migaloo, the only albino humpback whale in the world is back and was spoted playing off Port Douglas, 3 nautical miles north of Snapper Island  at 10.37am today.

The delighted passengers on Quicksilver’s Outer Barrier Reef cruise to Agincourt Reef were in awe of the rarely seen white humpback whale, Migaloo.

Migaloo was heading north at 6 knots and in the company of another whale when sighted this morning.

Migaloo was sighted last year by Quicksilver on the 18th August so he is tracking the same route but is a month earlier than last year.

In the current weather conditions, Quicksilver has been sighting a number of humpback whales but to see Migaloo has been one of the most unbelievable experiences for both crew and passengers.

The whales are regularly sighted at the ribbon reefs of the Outer Barrier Reef at this time of year, and future Quicksilver passengers may be lucky enough to enjoy the added bonus of whale watching for a few weeks yet.
