K Star Walking Tours takes to the streets

K Star Walking Tours, a new enterprise in Port Douglas, has taken to the streets to give visitors (and even locals) a fresh perspective on our town.

Kevin Eldridge, operator of K Star Walking Tours, says it's a great way for people to get to know their way around, and learn about the place they've chosen as their holiday destination.

"I saw a need for something fun, entertaining and educational that's accessible to everyone, and doesn't cost the earth." he said. "My walking tours are a healthy and relaxed option and it's a way for people to be shown the hidden gems of Port Douglas that aren't catered for anywhere else."

Having travelled extensively around the world and experienced walking tours in places such as Berlin, Rome, and Buenos Aires, Kevin knows what it takes to offer an attractive product to holiday makers.

This combined with his local knowledge and education (Kevin trained in Heritage and Interpretive Tourism), provides an enjoyable experience, and a great introduction to the town.

"It's a really good way to get your bearings," said Sonja, a K Star Walking Tour customer who arrived from Switzerland just three hours earlier. "The information was really valuable and Kevin's personal stories about Port Douglas makes it interesting."

But it's not just visitors who are enjoying the tours, Steve "Shadow" Bigby, a local of ten years said "The tour gives people an insight into our lifestyle, and you can learn a lot about our home town."

The 90 minute K Star Walking Tours depart from the Surf Life Saving Club daily at 10am and 3pm, and cost $20 for visitors, and as part of an introductory offer, just $10 for locals.
