With a successful 2010 event which saw 24 bands perform over two days to thousands of fans, organisers of the Cairns Blues Festival are already looking to get a head start on 2011.

Reverting back to a one day format, book in Saturday 7 May  2011 to get your fix of live music. And if you want to really get involved, organisers are looking to you to sign on as a volunteer, or if you're a business owner looking to get exposure and recognition in that market, you can sponsor the event.

But to help get us through, the Cairns Blues Festival will be holding two Roadshows over the coming months.

Event organiser, Pauline Langley says these are a great way to promote local talent, "We will be running Roadshows, one south of Cairns and one north of Cairns, and asking four local blues bands to perform. These events are usually run in small country halls and have a great, family atmosphere."

Port Douglas is being considered as a site for the northern Roadshow.
