Port Douglas Fun Runs

Port Douglas Fun Runs

Inspired by Sarah McConnell from Inspire Fitness in Port Douglas, the first of six planned Fun Runs will be starting in Rex Smeal Park at 6.15am on saturday 20th February.

These Fun runs are aimed to help the community get into walking or running and doing something positive for their health and fitness.  They also give individuals a goal to achieve by first of all completing the 5km or 10km distance and then trying to beat their personal best times over the series.  Whilst promoting Health & Fitness in the Douglas Region the Port Douglas Fun Run will also raise money for Running Pink a supporter of the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Deborah De Williams is the woman behind Running Pink.   Deborah, along with her constant companion her Border Collie, Maggie, are setting out once more to achieve their goal to become the first female (and the first dog) to run around Australia! Deborah and Maggie will continue to use their feet to support the National Breast Cancer Foundation.  Deborah will be running through Port Douglas and Mossman in December 2010.

Registration for the run will be from 6.00am for either the 5km or 10km events at $15.00 entry fee.  For further information please email Sarah at inspirefitnesspd@gotalk.net.au
