Valentines Day just gets better and better

Valentines Day just gets better and better

Yesterday we told you that many of the local resorts were preparing special Valentines Day offers to ensure you and your loved one will have the 'schmoochingly' best day of your life. Well the dams are busting and the offers are coming through in waves.

All you've got to do is surf your way through them to select the most appropriate one for you.

For example Silky Oaks have just confirmed two romantic packages at their picturesque location on the banks of the Mossman River on the edge of the Daintree Rainforest. They actually have two offers, one for dinner and an overnight stay and the other one for a fabulous dinner package with transfers so that drinking and driving on the return home is not a problem.

For a truly romantic getaway you could Spoil the one you love this Valentine’s Day and slip away to Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas. Perfectly poised on Four Mile Beach, Sheraton Mirage is the only five-star beachfront resort in Port Douglas. Its location only matched by the standard of indulgence, opulence, service and style that Sheraton Mirage is renowned for. An absolute beachfront oasis of luxury with the Coral Sea lapping its pristine grounds, the resort is set in 147 hectares of lush tropical gardens with two hectares of sparkling swimmable blue lagoons.

You can experience culinary delights in all their range of restaurants and bars, sip exotic tropical cocktails by the lagoons or be pampered in a selection of spas and salons at the Sunbird Centre. The Sheraton Mirage is presenting a special romantic candlelight and rose petal dinner in Il Pescatore Restaurant. Dine al fresco overlooking the sparkling lagoons or in air-conditioned comfort and enjoy a champagne cocktail on arrival with a 3 course set menu. And who knows you might even get lucky when you get put into the draw to win a romantic night in a luxury suite.

The Mercure Treetops valentines Day package is also available to the locals, so if you want to take advantage of the opportunity to sample some luxury living before you drift back into your own little piece of paradise, then get on the phone and check out availability or peruse the adverts on Newsport but don't leave it too long, we're told that the restaurants and hotels are booking up fast, so to avoid disappointment make your plans today and then sit back and let the others scrabble for the rest.

The restaurants are pulling out all the stops, the harrisons and bucci degustations look simply irresistible. The harrisons 5 course degustation is offerd with matching wines from the world renowned Henschke vineyards.  Bucci is presenting TEN courses including what are described as two 'stimulating alcoholic concoctions'. (Ed Note: I think we all know where this is going, don't we?).  They say that food is a great aphrodisaic, well if that is the case then it looks like Chef Spencer Patrick and his team have got everything organised nicely.

Editors Comments: We'll have more specials to report tomorrow, but if you 'won't wait and can't wait' then have a ring around and see what you can find, then you can let us know if you find something else special.  There's some real crackers out there but I'm talking about the venues, who your partner is for this very special day, I'm leaving to you !
