Air Deal for Australia to/from Turkey

By Roy Weavers

Australia and Turkey have signed a new air services agreement, allowing airlines from both nations to fly up to five direct flights per week. The deal also allows carriers from both countries to enter into a codeshare deal with a third country.

An estimated 50,000 Australians travel to Turkey every year. Turkish Airlines plans to launch flights to Australia in 2011.

Editors Comments: I love to see new airline routes open up for visitors to Australia.  They wont have any trouble with the heat of the tropics. Let's hope they come up and see us sometime !
