So you think you're funny?

Do you like being the centre of attention? Do you make your friends laugh? Have you ever watched live comedy and thought "I'd like to have a go at that"?

If you answered yes to any of those questions, then perhaps a new project by one of Port Douglas' funniest people, Evan 'Buddah' Hocking will tweak your interest.

Buddah is on the prowl for local talent. Talent who is keen to be part of the very first Court House Comedy Open Mic Night.

"Before I moved up to Port Douglas I was performing comedy down in Melbourne. I'm trying to get an open mic comedy night started upstairs in the Sunset Lounge at The Courthouse Hotel," he said.

"I think in Port Douglas there's a great vibe for live entertainment. We've got a great live music scene but a comedy night is something that could become very popular.

"It will be great for inexperienced comedians to have somewhere to perform, but also for everyone around the Douglas Shire it offers them a different form of entertainment."

The first Court House Comedy Open Mic Night is being planned for late January, giving you plenty of time to write down some of your best jokes, and gather material from the always entertaining Christmas period.

It's open to guys and girls so "Why not have a crack at it? You won't know unless you give it a shot," as Buddah says.

If you are interested in giving it a go or know any of your friends who might be, contact Buddah on 0438 005 146 or email Buudwana1@yahoo.com.
