Millions raised for men's health

Even though counting is yet to be finalised, Movember is officially breaking records as hundreds of thousands of people world wide raised money and awareness for men's health.

While the fundraising total won't be know until early next year, organisers are expecting it to surpass last year’s global fundraising figure.

And the event is truly global. Check out some of these stats:

450,000 from all over the world took part
Australia had the highest participation with 129,729 with Canada close behind with 118,781 and the UK with 111,632
Canada is currently the highest fundraisers with $20,341,071
The top six fundraising countries (Canada, Australia, UK, United States, Ireland, and New Zealand) have raised nearly $61 million
The Cairns region raised has raised over $216,000

Port Douglas' own Graeme Lees Smith secured his position as the highest fundraiser in Far North Queensland with an incredible $4,705, nearly $1,000 of his nearest Mo-bro.

"I'd like to send out a huge thank you. I've got enormous gratitude for those who contributed to raise money for two worthy causes." he said.

Funds are committed to Movember's men's health partners, beyondblue: the national depression initiative and the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.
