Tanks pull out big guns

Two of the biggest acts in Australian music will be coming to Tanks over the next week, so for all of you original live music starved fans get some friends together, jump in the car, and head south!

Angus and Julia Stone will be playing on Sunday, 22 August in the Gardens and will be joined by local and national artists for six hours of song and performance as part of Cairns Festival 2010.

The last few months have seen brother and sister duo go from strength to strength. Their latest album Down The Way is the highest selling Australian Artist album for 2010.  

It debuted No #1 on its release in March and has notched up sales of over 70,000 copies in the last two months, certifying it platinum.  

Tickets are $53 ($48 concession and children aged 1-15), with door opening at 1.30pm for a 2pm start.


On Friday, 27 August, Lior will grace the stage at Tanks, also as part of Cairns Festival 2010.

Lior's music offers a spiritually enriching experience for all involved and a reminder of a time when the music came first, and everything else was secondary.

Lior's two studio albums received international, critical acclaim, and after numerous sold out tours, including supporting Carole King and James Taylor in front of 15,000 people in Australia earlier this year.

There is no disputing that he is one of Australia's most exciting home grown talents.

Tickets are $35 ($30 concession), with door opening at 6.30pm for a 7.30pm start.
